In the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, downtown Springfield stood as the ultimate holiday shopping destination, drawing people from across the Ozarks to share in the joy of the season. The streets of Downtown were adorned with shimmering lights, creating an atmosphere of merriment and wonder that truly embodied the spirit of Christmas.
