Thanks to a generous grant from the Melinda J. McDaniel Charitable Trust, UW, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee, the History Museum on the Square is offering field trip scholarships to help students from across Southwest Missouri access our museum and educational programming.

This scholarship program is designed to support schools, educators, and homeschool groups who would not otherwise be able to afford admission and program fees. Scholarship funds are only available for field trips prior to May 31, 2027.

Applications are accepted on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis. Funds are limited and will be awarded until they are exhausted. All applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks before your requested field trip date. Approved applicants will receive a follow-up email within 5 business days. Transportation grants are limited and available only for rural schools; stipends will be awarded up to $200. If selecting yes, please provide more info in the next field.
For groups requesting transportation support: describe your need below. Please include the round-trip distance you will be traveling AND estimated cost to be spent on transportation.
Example: 92 miles roundtrip will be traveled for the visit; est. $150 transportation expense.

Museum hours of operation are 10 AM to 5 PM Wednesday through Saturday and 1 PM to 5 PM on Sunday. Additional fees may be applied for visits outside of these hours.

REMINDER: Our chaperone ratio is 1 adult for every 5 students.
Museum Chaperone Policy Agreement

By checking this box you agree to meet the requirements of the museum's 1:5 adult-to-student ratio. Furthermore, you agree to ensure that all teachers and chaperones attending the visit will only use cell phones for photos or emergencies, will closely watch children for their safety and the safety of our exhibits, and maintain a level of play that is comfortable and respectful to all visitors in the museum.

- 30-minute Lunch Space Reservation ($30 / session)

Upon submission, we will contact you within 3 to 5 business days to follow up on your application from [email protected]. If we do not receive a response to our follow-up communication within 5 business days, your scholarship will be forfeited in accordance with program policy. Upon forfeit, a new scholarship application must be submitted for future consideration.
