The History Museum on the Square is thrilled to announce the eagerly anticipated return of the Haunted History Walking/Bus Tours, an experience that unveils the history behind downtown’s haunts. These tours will captivate audiences of all ages, shedding light on true crime, alleged hauntings, and chilling stories that have become part of Springfield’s folklore.
Walking Tours will run for two weekends only! Fridays and Saturdays at 5:30 pm.
Friday and Saturday, October 23 & 24 and October 30 & 31, 2026.
Bus Tour will be one evening, Friday, October 30, 2026 at 5:30 pm.
Prices: Haunted History Walking Tour – Members/Patrons $20.00 per person and Non-Members $25.00 per person.
Haunted Bus Tour – Members/Patrons $35.00 per person and Non-Members $40.00 per person.
Terms of Release are attached for you and your minors to read and agree to. When purchasing a ticket, you have agreed to these terms. There will also be copies available when you arrive for the tour, Haunted Release, Indem, HH, Photo Consent 2026.pdf
Haunted History Tours are a yearly fundraiser and tickets are non-refundable. Tours will be held rain or shine but if weather is dangerous there will be a re-schedule date.

Haunted History Walking Tours Join us as we share history and spooky stories of downtown with a 1-mile 1.5 hour walking tour. Starting at the History Museum on the Square and highlighting the Historic Fox Theatre, The Calaboose and TaBak Co.
Date: Friday and Saturday night starting Friday, October 23- October 31st
Time: 5:30 p.m.
Cost: Non-Members $25 & Members $20 – Non-Refundable
Haunted History Bus Tours One Night Only, Limited space Haunted History Bus Tours will start at the History Museum on the Square 154 Park Central Square. The Bus Tour includes downtown Springfield Commercial Street and Drury University, expanding on stories beyond the walking tour route.
Date: ONLY Friday, October 30th
Time: 5:30 pm
Cost: Non-Members $40 & Members $35 – Non-Refundable
