Learn about Springfield’s history beyond the museum! Join us for a walk around Springfield’s downtown and discover some of Springfield’s most notable stories where they took place. Stops include the original site of the founding of Springfield, historic Walnut Street, and Wild Bill Hickok’s first wild west shoot-out. You’ll even get a look inside the historic Fox Theatre. This one-mile, one-hour walking tour begins at the Welcome Center of the History Museum on the Square and ends on the Square. Call for information: 417-831-1976.
